Menorca is the perfect Balearic island to relax and enjoy its beaches and coves, although it also offers an infinite number of plans and activities. In particular, one of the island’s most popular activities is diving and snorkelling.
We show you the best beaches and coves where you can put on your snorkelling goggles and snorkel and dive into Menorca’s waters.
The beautiful Cala Macarella, located in Ciutadella, is one of the most visited coves due to its turquoise blue and its large limestone rocks.
At the bottom of this cove you can find some species of anemones, starfish and sponges, which makes this cove attractive for snorkelling and getting away from the large number of tourists that frequent it in the summer months.
This cove in Cabo de Cavalleria has a peculiarity that differentiates it from the majority of coves in Menorca, and that is that it is separated into two areas for bathing and is made of sand mixed with gravel.
Here you can snorkel and find seahorses, groupers and moray eels under the underwater caves.
In the Natural Park of S’Albufera des Grau you will find this magnificent cove, perfect for discovering its seabed as it is formed by three small coves close to each other, shallow and not usually frequented, which makes it particularly suitable for underwater activities. In its depths you can see how the sand is covered by posidonia, typical in the Mediterranean.
This beach, which belongs to Des Mercadal, is another good option for discovering its seabed, as it has low crags and small caves among its rocks where you can find quite a lot of marine fauna.
This cove, located to the north of Ciutadella, is another of the most visited coves in Menorca, especially during the high season, due to its shallow waters and turquoise blue. We recommend you try snorkelling and discover the species that live in this cove.
